So what's the truth...

The truth is ... truth is perception. One person's truth is another's fantasy. This website only presents Nancy Ann Tappe's view of the Indigo life color and the Indigo personality. Here are a few of Nancy's perceptions of the Indigo.

Question: Are all Indigo children magical, special, psychic children?

"All Indigos are intuitive; some are psychic. A few psychic individuals have been born in every era since time began. There is no data to suggest that there are more psychic children today than at any other time in history. EVERYONE is more aware than they were 50 years ago.

All Indigo children are not wide-eyed, magical creatures who have come to enlighten the world. They do seem to be clear-eyed, happy children in their first few years." NT

Question: Do all Indigo children have ADD or ADHD?

"All Indigo children are not ADD or ADHD. Many do seem to resonate at a higher energy than other colors. Humanists can be hyperactive. Time is speeding up, and what seems too fast for us is just right for the Indigos." NT

Question: Who are the crystal children?

"There is not a new group of children that I see with a crystal life color. I believe that, in time, another color will emerge. That may take a hundred or more years. I have said for years: the Indigos are the bridge to the future. The next color will be the future. Right now I can only suspect what that color might be. Our task today is to deal with the Indigos, not hypothesize about what might come in a future we can't even imagine now because change is happening so fast." NT

Question: I am an Indigo, and I feel like I am a blend of all four types.
"Because Indigos are so connected, it is easy for them to relate to each other easily. However, there are no Indigo blends of all types. In order to determine your type, find those characteristics you exemplify most strongly. There are dual Indigos: humanist / artist, artist / conceptual, etc. But there are no Indigos who have all four types." NT
Question: I am an Indigo approaching my 30's. I find that I trained for one discipline with a formal education that cost a lot of money. Now I want to do something else. What should I do?

"One of my early concerns with the Indigos was that their "program" (their life task, if you will) was not apparent. This information is just now beginning to emerge, and it will take another year or two before Indigos have a sense of their life's direction. Many Indigos have been frustrated for years because they have felt "rudderless." Now that the information is filtering in, there is some frustration about how to shift direction. My advice is twofold: (1). Create relationships built on trust so that you can communicate your need to change with those who might be most affected by those changes. For example, if your parents paid for you to attend medical school and now you want to pursue a different direction, talk to them. Explain your feelings. Offer to repay them. Work out the changes with full communication and commitment to their feelings as well. (2.) Be aware that change is not easy. There can be problems along the way. Ask yourself how badly do you want something different? Is it worth it? And if all your answers are 'yes', then go for it." NT

Question: Should all Indigos have private schooling?

"All Indigo children do not require private schooling to learn successfully. What an impractical idea! What I believe is that ALL children, regardless of life color, could benefit from education that is student-centered, that allows for more self-paced learning, and that utilizes technology fully. Change happens slowly. Today's educators will not make the necessary changes to optimize learning for today's children. As more young Indigo adults become teachers and administrators (and this is already happening), the education system will change for the better.

Technology will be one of the Indigo's best friends in learning. And by that, I do not refer solely to computers. Technology also means wise and moderate use of television, video games, wireless communication devices, and social networking platforms. This may shock some readers, but these technological devices ARE the future. Children should learn to use them safely, moderately, skillfully, and wisely. The doctors of tomorrow need the fine motor precision they have developed since childhood with video games. Airline pilots and those in highly technical fields (such as robotics) also require years of fine motor training. Every industry is evolving in ways that demand knowledge of and skill with the kinds of technology in that field. Furthermore, Indigos are global; they will need the skills of social networking and wireless technology to manage travel, language shifts, and maintaining communication with home. And everyone needs to know how and when to turn these machines off and live their lives." NT
