a Nancy Tappe website....
The Indigo phenomenon has been recognized as one of the most exciting changes in human nature ever documented in history. Nancy Tappe was the first person to identify this anomaly in human evolution. Because of her fully developed and tested language of color through synesthesia, she labeled these children as having an Indigo life color, a combination of blue and violet. This Indigo label described the energy pattern of human behavior that now exists in over 95% of children born in the last 20 years.
In addition, the first Indigos have grown up and are taking their place in the adult world. At least two are presidents of countries, Barack Obama and Rafael Correa, the president of Ecuador. Both are controversial, both ran on a platform of change, and both focus on the future. Indigos are entering politics, the media, big business on a global scale, science, and medicine. They are here to show us the future.
While the Violet life colors introduced computers to the world, it is the Indigos who brought about such peer phenomena as social networking. MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, and other platforms for social interacting are entirely Indigo processes. These formats allow them to be in touch with each other constantly and seamlessly. They share every aspect of themselves, and usually "let it all hang out." The "don't ask; don't tell" mentality is not their style at all.
Nancy says that the Indigo represents the entire range of humanity. There is no "one size fits all" mentality for the Indigo personality, just as there is no "one size fits all" descriptor for all people. Consequently, there is no one single best type of education, type of lifestyle, type of approach, etc. with these individuals. After all, within the next hundred years, everyone will be Indigo. And while humanity will be very different from what has happened in the past, there is just not one single approach to the Indigo mindset or personality.
Since the very beginning of her identifying Indigos in the 1960's and early 70's, she has identified four types of Indigo personalities. Humanists significantly outnumber the other categories, and there are very, very few Catalysts yet. These types will each be described more fully on their own pages.
